  • The experience we had last year at the independents cup was second to none. The best ran championship available to our class and it’s not even close. There is nothing stopping this becoming the most prestigious championship on the circuit the separation from teams and huge spending

  • This is our second year in owner karting having left a small club round behind from our first year in karting due to changing class we were daunted by the big teams, awnings bigger than my house and the money at the larger national and club rounds. To be honest as a family we were losing love of karting very quickly, longing to go back down a class again. IPKC is different though and I am glad we found them, friendly paddock and close racing are just two of the highlights of this series, bigger than our little club round but still the same great atmosphere that made us enjoy karting, budget kind and a paddock made up of small camper vans/tents and 3×3 gazebos really helps the seemingly now rare privateer karter feel at home!

  • My son Archie Hogan decided quite late he would like to join IPKC missing the first round, but we are glad we made the decision as we really enjoyed the season, he finished 4th in jnr max, which in his first year of owner driving was brilliant. The championship was our first national championship and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of joining as we were guided through by ipkc staff every step of the way and have learnt a lot this year about how a championship runs. The paddock atmosphere was great and everyone helped each other out to enable everyone to race, I’m not sure other paddocks would be as keen to help a rival driver get on the grid but credit to the ipkc ethos enabled not only us but other drivers who had an issue get the kart sorted and back on track. May not be able to do the full season next year but will be attending where possible, again would recommend to anyone.

  • This is only going to keep growing. Rory runs a great championship and is easily approachable. Paddock seems less Intimidating and a relaxed feel (apart from when the weather changes) we enjoyed throughout the year and as it grows the running will only become better. Would recommend to everyone.

  • Rory and his whole team are approachable and will either take an issue away or tell you there and then why a rule or an action is in place. I think at each round something has cropped up and they all get together and with their multiple years of experience and being on our side of the fence with either a driver on track or being on track themselves…. they get a sensible solution then communicate it. Not only is this a championship run for us… its being run by people like us….. not someone who’s read a book on karting and thinks we’ll have a go at that….

  • We took part in the Independents Cup this year at Whilton Mill, primarily based on our visit to watch a round at Hooton Park in which a number of friends were competing. We found the organisation and atmosphere superb at Hooton and immediately entered for Whilton when it was announced. From arrival, through practice day and across the weekend the IPKC team, the organisation and the racing was fantastic. I’d have no hesitation in recommending the championship to anyone, where the lack of teams is a bonus, and the friendly atmosphere within the paddock is most welcome.

  • We did a guest round last year, the officials and organisers were very approachable and everyone in the paddock was very friendly and helpful. We like the privateer ethos and signed up for 2024 and looking forward to it.
